Pictured: Gilmore blasting her way into the finals!

Beachley Classic Trials Winner and event wildcard Stephanie Gilmore is the inaugural Havaianas Beachley Classic champion after a stunning victory of Layne Beachley.

Gilmore opened up strong with a 6.50 ride putting the pressure on the former six-time ASP World Champ.

Beachley was unable to find her rhythm out in the shifting lineup before Gilmore hammered the nail into the coffin with a blasting righthander for a 7.00.

Gilmore, who has qualified for th ASP Women's World Tour in 2007, has put all the girls on notice at this event.

If this is a sign of things to come, 2007 could turn into a very long year indeed.
